Greetings from Nipissing!

Howdy from Nipissing Village, Ontario. We're here at the Piebird Bed & Breakfast. Last night we had not only a really great house concert in a really beautiful house, but also some incredibly delicious vegan rhubarb cake.
Over the last little while we've been scowling at Ontario under grey skies, and as soon as the sun came out I thought that maybe I only thought the places we were in were unfriendly because of the weather. After all, in the sunshine, the places we drove through yesterday didn't seem so bad. However this morning it's raining on Yan & Sherry's beautiful bed & breakfast and I'm feeling rather pleased. If you're ever through Nipissing this is the place to be!
Today it's off to Ottawa where we will meet up with our pal Mr. Oliver Rueben Swain and rock out at the Avant Garde Bar.

Greetings from the soo!

Alrighty folks, here's some tour bloggin', aren't you lucky.
Our CD is now out in the wild! Left Brain Blues is upon you my friends. Soon we'll have it up on CDBaby.com soon hopefully, and then all around the world may order it and sample its glories. We had a couple great CD release and tour kickoff shows at Cafe Deux Soleils in Vancouver and at the Orange Hall in Victoria. Our friend graham took a couple videos in Victoria (thanks graham!):

That's Ollie Swain on the Bass, who you'll be hearing more about once we meet up with him in Montreal.
Our first week on tour we spent with Raghu Lokanathan, who is a great singer songwriter from Victoria. We had some really great shows, in Penticton BC, Silverton BC, Nelson BC, Forget (For-jhay) SK, and Winnipeg MB. We and Raghu had some great fun playing on eachother's material and digging around behind sushi restaurants for fuel to run good ol' Morty, Adam's veggie-oil van.

RIght now we're in Sault Ste Marie for our second date with Sara Ciantar and her band (tentatively named Sara Ciantar's Wet Toast, or perhaps Night Danger). Ontario is biiiiiiig. We just started driving along Lake Superior which I'm pretty happy about. It's very beautiful. Life is very beautiful, and touring is really beautiful. One of the things Adam and I have been talking about in the van is how lucky we are to get to travel the country gathering meager earnings from shows, and experiencing crazy things we could never experience otherwise. We are happy as bugs in rugs galloping down the road on veggie power and singing for people, and seeing the mountains and the prairies and the rocks and trees and lakes, and all the people who live near them. Eating pizzas made by pastors and moonshine made by the wild turkeys. And it seems that there is a stag party in Loplop's all of a sudden. Our set is soon. Maybe we'll end up with dollar bills stuffed into our trousers.

Til next time Fishybirdies! (pictures soon!)
